Sidmouth

Welcome to Sidmouth Online, an local portal and visitors guide for the town of Sidmouth in Devon, England.

Sidmouth is a lovely Devon Coast town which is located below wonderful red cliffs at the mouth of the River Sid. A popular holiday resort throughout the last two centuries due to its beaches, gardens and history it is also the gateway to the Jurassic Coast, the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the South West Coast Path.

Like many British coastal towns it developed into a larger scale resort thanks to the growing taste for tourism in the Georgian and Victorian ages, the fine buildings which remain from those days reminding us of when Queens and Dukes would come to visit Sidmouth.

Thanks to the many natural and man-made attractions in and around Sidmouth it has maintained a reputation as a pleasant British holiday resort which continues to attract tourists to the beaches, esplanade, hills and parks which have enchanted tourists for so many years.

Sidmouth is a town which offers the possibility of either a leisurely beach holiday or a more active, walking trip with plenty of stunning views waiting for those who choose to climb the nearby hills.

Musical touches are added to the local scene by the annual Sidmouth Folk Festival and the summer concerts given by the Sidmouth Town Band.
